Ken Wallace was born in Penticton BC in 1945. His family moved to West Vancouver in 1954. He attended Pauline Johnson Elementary, Inglewood High School, Hillside High School and graduated from West Vancouver Senior Secondary in 1963.
Wallace attended the Alberta College of Art, Vancouver School of Art and the Banff School of Fine Arts. He has taught drawing and painting at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in both the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Fine Arts and has been teaching at Emily Carr University of Art and Design from 1980 to 2009. He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in major public and private galleries in North America. He has received four Canada Council Awards for work in painting and film. He was inducted into the Royal Canadian Academy of arts in 2010. His work is represented in many private and public collections including: the National Gallery, Art Gallery of Ontario, Vancouver Art Gallery & numerous private collections.
